Displaying firelighters: clear choices and an orderly shelf
A useful display helps customers identify the pack, compare contents and find the instructions. Plan the shelf around product storage conditions and the information customers need, rather than filling every available space.
Choose a suitable place
Check the firelighter label, store procedures and relevant requirements for the premises. Keep products away from heat and ignition sources and maintain clear access routes. A display near fuel or outdoor accessories may be convenient, but the placement must still meet storage conditions. Do not put stock beside working heaters or demonstration flames.
Make pack sizes easy to compare
Separate the 40-, 80- and 200-cube sheet packs from the 180-cube tube so that customers can see the difference in form and contents. Give each variant an accurate shelf label and price unit. Do not suggest that a higher cube count means a stronger product or more cubes per ignition.
Keep labels and packs intact
Place products so that customers can inspect the original warnings and instructions. Do not cover them with promotional stickers. Remove damaged or unidentified stock from normal sale and agree the next step with the supplier. A wholesale bundle should not be split into presumed retail units without checking packaging and labelling arrangements.
Give staff a short reference
Prepare a simple internal list of variants, EANs, carton quantities and links to product pages. Staff can help distinguish pack size and storage form without improvising technical approval for a customer’s appliance. Review the shelf and replenishment regularly, especially before seasonal peaks. Use actual sales to decide which formats deserve more space.
